Healthy Living: Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation
Exercise, nutrition, and a positive mental outlook are all key elements to living your best life moving forward with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. Exercise in particular has been shown to have a positive impact on the disease, possibly even slowing it down. Research has shown positive benefits of walking, biking, lifting weights, boxing, Tai Chi, and other exercises. Keeping active is very important. Also important is maintaining good nutrition to maintain your general health and provide the fuel you will need to maintain activity. Positive outlook may come from many sources – meditation, spirituality, hobbies, friendships, and so forth may all be important to your overall well-being. The Parkinson’s Community Los Angeles will direct you to many resources specifically designed to serve the needs of individuals with PD to help you maintain a mental and physical equilibrium.
