Parkinson’s Community Los Angeles (PCLA) is a charitable organization headquartered in Los Angeles. It is dedicated to providing information and opportunities to, and enriching the lives of, individuals with Parkinson’s disease and those who are concerned for them. Providing personally identifiable information is always voluntary on your part. Your information will only be used to fulfill your requests and our charitable goals. PCLA will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to others under any circumstances. We apply industry-standard practices and technologies to safeguard your personally identifiable information.

This Privacy Policy is provided to help you better understand how we at PCLA obtain, use, share, and protect your non-public personally identifiable information. In our role as provider of services to you, and the possible recipient of online donations from you, we may collect personal and sometimes sensitive information. Non-public personally identifiable information we collect may include your name, address, phone number, email address, age, gender, general health issues and needs, as well as personally identifiable information regarding your method of making an online donation should you elect to do so.

We believe that you should know about the information we collect, the measures we take to safeguard it, and the situations in which we might share information.

Information We Collect
The information we collect and the extent to which we use it will vary depending on the service or use involved. We collect only the information necessary to deliver responsive services our process your donation. You do not need to provide personal information to access the PCLA website. Certain services may require us to access your personally identifiable information. If you do not provide this information, we may not be able to provide the service.
PCLA will never request, and you should never provide us, with your private medical records.

Online Donations. PCLA collects the following information through our secure online financial-transaction pages: name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and credit card information. This personally identifiable information is used to acknowledge receipt of your donation for tax purposes and to include you on the PCLA mailing list if you choose to join it. When you send a donation in honor or in memory of someone and request that an acknowledgement be sent to another individual or a family, we will use the name and address of that individual or family for acknowledgement purposes only.

Mailing List. PCLA provides a separate online form to join our mailing list. The personally identifiable information we collect includes name, address, e-mail address, and phone number. This information is accessed only when we correspond with our mailing list periodically during the year, either via e-mail or regular mail. You will be provided a means to opt out of our mailing list should you wish to do so.

PCLA Newsletter. You will be added to the PCLA email newsletter list only if you register to receive our newsletters via a form or checkbox on the PCLA website. You may opt out of receiving our newsletters by clicking on the opt-out link included in every email newsletter we send.

Links to Other Web Sites. PCLA’s website includes links, some temporary and some permanent, to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy and security practices of any other website or the nature of the content contained on the other website.

How We Collect Information
Personally identifiable information above may be obtained from you using various methods that may include information in writing or e-mail, during telephone or internet transactions, or from data gathering software when you are completing information on the PCLA website. In the case of the PCLA website, you will know when your personally identifiable information is collected because you will be requested to fill out a form. In other instances, such as during a phone communication, our collection of personally identifiable information will be made clear to you.

How We Protect Your Information
We have implemented and maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your non-public personal financial information. We use and share your non-public personal financial information to the extent minimally necessary and only with those employees who use your information as a means to provide you with services and information you request. They are required to respect the confidentiality of all user information. We also require each unaffiliated third party with whom we engage to assist in providing services to you to agree to abide by safeguards and privacy standards that are the same or substantially similar to those followed by PCLA.

PCLA does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from persons under 18 years of age. Under no circumstances should you send personally identifiable information about yourself to us if you are under 18 years of age. If we determine we have received personally identifiable information for a person under 18 years of age we will immediately delete it.
The privacy and security of your non-public personal information may be maintained beyond the termination of your relationship with PCLA, but is always subject to our Privacy Policy.

How, and With Whom, We Share Information
First and foremost, we do not sell lists of our user, nor do we disclose user information to marketing companies.
Where reasonably necessary, we may share any of your non-public personal financial information we obtain with affiliated and unaffiliated third parties as otherwise permitted or required by law. For example, we may share your information to protect against or prevent fraud, or in response to a subpoena, court order, judicial process, or regulatory authorities.
