Moving Forward features special presentations from experts in the medical community to provide tools & strategies that maximize quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s.

The first four-part series focuses on practical tips to maintain independence and make life easier with occupational therapist, Dr. Mary Grace Lagasca.

In Part 1 of this series, Dr. Lagasca covers practical tips for easing activities of daily life, including bed mobility, dressing, eating & meal prep, and more.

About The Speaker:

Dr. Mary Grace Lagasca is an occupational therapist and entrepreneur in Houston, Texas. While pursuing her doctorate degree, she was able to conduct a study with persons diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease using Cognitive Mapping and Motivational interviewing to help clinician’s provide more person-centered care. Her research was a poster presentation at the World Parkinson’s Congress in Barcelona, Spain this last year and a workshop presentation at the National Association of Occupational Therapists conference last April.

In addition to her work with the Houston Area Parkinson’s community, her inspiration comes from being an advocate, cheerleader, and caregiver to her father who has been battling Parkinson’s disease for the last decade. She currently lives in Houston and enjoys traveling with her husband of 12 years Jason and their two kids Luke and Leia.
