Meet our panelists:

Charles Schiell is an active member and advocate of the Parkinson’s community, and has used his logistical skills from filmmaking to help provide care to his late father who battled Parkinson’s for 15 years.

Alexandra Shinn was a care partner to her father who suffered from dementia and Parkinsonism during his last years of life. She is also a care partner to her husband of over 30 years, who has Parkinsonism and other health issues. Alexandra led support groups for caregivers through Leeza’s Care Connection, focused on caregivers of people with dementia.

Nessa Weinman has been a care partner to her husband Mike for over 20 years. Nessa runs two of PCLA’s support groups and has been active as an advocate for the community since Mike’s diagnosis at age 36.

Moderator Judy Yaras was a care partner to her husband Sandy, who lived with Parkinson’s for 18 years. Judy serves as a Vice President on PCLA’s board and runs our weekly Tuesday support group and “Caregiver Cafe,” a support group for care partners and family caregivers.
